I love these pictures of Marissa and wanted the layout to be
somewhat special for her own album. I saw this paper, (which is a
Christmas paper...Shhh...don't tell!) but it was a shade of purple,
with music notes, both of her favorite things, so I knew it was to be
used for her at one point. This weekend I was doing a lot of creating
because MY SPACE WAS CLEAN (hehe) so I was very motivated. As I was
surfing I saw this challenge
for February and had thought in January I might like to try it one of
these months. Well, I guess there is no time like the present, so I
did it!! My first one of this sort. They do them every month and there
are four of them, Scraplift, Sketch, Color Scheme, and Supplies.
Instead of using 2 patterned papers, I used a Bazzil Bling shimmery cardstock and created a shaped background edge. To do this I used a 12x12 scalloped stencil and my NEW Shimmerz Vibez in "Jeni B. Bleu". It matched perfectly with the colors in the paper. The brown circle is a pre-cut notecard, the purple scallop is also pre-cut and I sprayed it with Shimmerz Spritz in "Plum Pudding". The hearts are free hand out of scraps then painted with TC Shimmerz Pearlz, in "Morning Mist", and crumpled up. I Spritzed the chipboard letters with "Mudpie", and "Plum Pudding". The gold fan-like piece is a scrap of wrapping paper.
I don't know if I entered the contest right in the end, but I don't care because this is my take on the original design and I am thrilled to pieces with it!!
