I started this layout something like 5 years ago, put it away, forgot about it, then found it this weekend. It was like Christmas! I had the background finished, the pictures matted in both the pink and chocolate brown cardstock, and the whole thing inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink (Ranger). It needed something...or some THINGS...but what?? I added the strip of pink vintage trim I picked up on my Inspiration Trip to Arizona, and I started doing the two things I am really into right now, collage and handmade flowers.
I used a blank manila butcher tag and began using found objects in the mini collage such as buttons, fabric scraps, skeleton key, and a single pearl. I found the words from old book pages I have from my previous altered book project. I inked those words and the tag using the same color of Distress Ink.
Next I scrunched a small paper doilie into a flower, made another shaped flower out of strips of old book pages, (I swear I use those pages for EVERYTHING!), stapled them together, and spritzed them using Shimmerz Spritz, "Bed of Roses". I used my heat gun to dry them into shape, then added pink tulle to the back and a flat backed pearl to the front. Loving the fun of creating my own embellishments with things I have in my stash!
I love this finished page so very much, and these photos mean so much to me, I put it in a shadow box and hung it in my room and it matches the decor perfectly! I love you, Mama!
These types of layouts are my absolute FAVORITE! They are definitely meaningful!!! The layout is beautiful Lori...love the flower with the pearl in the center.

This is a really nice page, Lori. It makes me want to do one with my sister and mom. Maybe I'll search for some photos and have you help me. It would be nice to put it in a shadow box and give it to mom for Mother's Day. Oh - I love that idea! You are so inspiring!! :)
